Loose Button Luxe Advent Calendar: 19th December

Hey guys :) 

6 more days til Christmas! :D Behind the 19th door today, is the YSL Forever Youth Liberator Eye Cream. 

This pairs well with the YSL Forever Youth Liberator Serum I got on the 17th. It is nice that LooseButton had it such that there are pairs of skin care products to try out for every brand. Like all the other skincare products I've gotten so far, this can be used for both day and night. 

I will be giving this to my mom to try out. I got 3mL (0.1oz) compared to the full-size which is 0.5oz in volume. It retails for 98CAD.  :)

I hope your winter holidays are going great! I am here in Arizona and am loving the nice warm weather compared Canada. Vancouver snowed so much these few days resulting in translink failure! I am so glad that I am being snowed in :P

Loose Button Luxe Advent Calendar: 17th December

Good Morning guys! :)

It's pretty darn early in the morning right now. Figured I would post this before I head to the airport just incase I don't have time to blog later on.

I got my lavender candle burning in the background while I do my last minute packing. I love burning candles while I'm busy as it really brings a soothing atmosphere into the room.

Anyways, behind the tiny 17th door is the YSL Forever Youth Liberator Serum

This product was described to be

"A groundbreaking, high-performance anti-aging serum Highly concentrated with Glycanactif TM, a patented blend of three glycans Helps reactivate vital functions of skin cells & promote mechanisms of skin regeneration Remarkably reduces appearance of fine liner & wrinkles Skin appears softer, firmer, brighter, fresher, plumper & younger looking"

Similar to all 5 serums I've received so far, this can be used for your day and night regime after your moisturizer. It comes in nice metallic lilac glass vial, containing 5mL of product. It also came with a dropper which makes application SO much easier and cleaner.

As much as I really enjoy receiving high-end samples, I feel that I have gotten my fair share of skin-care products from this advent calendar. I have been using the Shu Umera Phyto-black lift serum everyday and night since the 3rd and am not even close to emptying it.

In addition to that, being 22, neither wrinkles nor dullness related to aging should be a concern for me.
I hope there's no more serum hiding behind the rest of the 7 remaining doors.

Loose Button Luxe Advent Calendar: 14th December

It's the time of the day again :)
Behind the 14th door was the Yves Saint Laurent OPIUM perfume.

As you guys already know, I am not too big of a fan when it comes to perfume. I never really had the habit to use fragrances other than the regular bath and body works body spray. I have a serious collection of perfume samples, and I'm so sure that I have more of those little bottles than I do makeup!

Anyways, I thought the design of the bottle was really pretty and it was really nice to finally have a spray to spritz the product. It was pretty large in quantity, which is great for those who like this scent.

I was personally not a big fan at all, It smelled really off-putting to me. It was really strong and smelled really chinese-herb-medicine-like. I spritzed once on my wrist and asked my boyfriend as well as 3 other guys to smell it individually. All of them collectively asked whether I had applied some kind of ailment, they thought the smell was bad and too strong.

This is something I am 100% sure I won't be using. :(

Loose Button Luxe Advent Calendar: 6th December

Behind the 6th door was.....

.....................the Yves Saint Laurent Belle D'Opium!!

These are my thoughts of this perfume:

1. It's such a pretty bottle for a sample and it looks exactly like its full-size sister.
2. It was a huge sample even compared to the Giorio Armani Acquia di Gioia perfume given on day 2. 
3. It had a floral, yet woody scent. It reminded me of a cologne, except more feminine.
4. Like the Giorio Armani perfume, this does not come with a spray. 

Overall, I thought this scent is the fall/winter season. However, I don't feel that this scent is very unique as I have come across perfume that smells exactly like this. I will be using it for this season just so it won't go to waste. I will probably not be buying the full-size version.

Loose Button Luxe Advent Calendar: 1st December

HAPPY DECEMBER! :)

This meant that I could open the door #1 of the advent calendar!

I got the Yves Saint Laurent DESSIN DU REGARD Waterproof eye pencil in color #1 black ink. 

This product is described to be a smudge-proof and waterproof long lasting eye pencil and should last up to 16 hours of wear. 

The amount I received 0.8g (0.028oz), which is a little more than half the full-size (0.04oz). Not bad if you were to ask me! 

After taking pictures, I did a quick swatch... and HOLY MOLEY. It was probably the creamiest eye-liner I have ever used/swatched! It glided on beautifully and smoothly! To top it off, the color pay-off was amazing. The swatch below was obtained from 2 light-pressured draws, I was immediately impressed. 

Right after the swatches, I went to cook dinner which involved loads of heat, hand-washing, and dish-washing, the liner did not budge at all! It was only when I started rubbing it rigorously did the liner smudge a bit. 

So far, my 1st impression of this YSL eye pencil has been nothing but great. I can't wait it try it out on my eyes. I have pretty oily lids and I'm curious to see if this would hold up all day! 

The liner comes in 7 different colors including the black. It comes with a sharpener, and you can purchase it online on amazon.com for $29.

Loose Button's 2012 Luxe Advent Calendar!

Hey everyone!

I was literally jumping for joy and excitement when I saw a box right when I entered my house. I knew for sure that it was going to be my long awaited Luxe Advent Calendar from Loose Button!

This is basically an advent calendar for December 1st all the way to the 24th. So, there are 24 deluxe size beauty products from Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani and Shu Uemura! I do not usually splurge on high-end beauty products, so this is definitely a great opportunity to try them out. :)

Unfortunately, for those who are interested in purchasing this limited edition calendar, it is sold out - I ordered mine back in mid-October. This was a definitely a splurge and costed me $109 + shipping.

Anyways, I would like for you guys to join me in the daily 'unboxing' surprise :) I will be blogging everyday from 1st - 24th of December about the product that is part of the specific day. :)
